Live Media
Live Media represents a live media stream that can be integrated into the Easel TV platform. Live Media streams are used to broadcast live events and channels in real-time, and they can be configured to either use Easel TV's encoding services (managed) or external streams (unmanaged). Live Media can be attached to two types of products within the Easel TV platform, Live Events, for one-time or scheduled events and Channels, continuous, broadcast-style live streams.
Managed Live Media
With Managed Live Media, Easel TV's platform will take care of the encoding process, ensuring your live stream is formatted correctly and optimised for delivery to viewers.
Key features:
- Supported Input Formats: Managed Live Media can be sent to the platform via RTMP or SRT.
- DRM Support: The live stream can be encoded with or without Digital Rights Management (DRM).
- Live Monitoring: The Easel TV Dashboard provides a UI for managing and monitoring the live encoding process. This includes live encoding statistics, allowing you to view the stream, status and metadata of the input.
- Stream Configuration: Once you start a Managed Live Media, the platform will provide you with a streaming URL and authentication keys, which can be used to send the RTMP or SRT live stream to the platform.
Unmanaged Live Media
With Unmanaged Live Media, the encoding is handled externally, and the Easel TV platform accesses the stream through a URL you provide. This is suitable for use cases where you already have an existing live stream setup that doesn't require the platform to manage the encoding process.
